Customization Templates are the documents or widgets that you use to customize a product. To create a new Customization Template go to the App's Version 2 Home page and click on the "New Template" button.

If you just installed the app or have not created any templates, you'll go directly to the next page.

After clicking "New Template" you will go to a page where you can import one of several pre-created Customization Templates. These Quick Start templates to get you started immediately and easily. If you do not need or wish to use one of the Quick Start templates, just click on the "Start From Scratch" button.

After clicking on the "Start From Scratch" button you'll go to the "Template Quickstart" page, which is a simplified editor with basic questions to get you started on your Customization Template.


After entering the basic question in the "Template Quickstart" click "Save". After this you will go to the "Customization Template" full editor. If instead of "Start From Scratch" you clicked on one of the pre-made Customization Templates, you will go directly to the "Customization Template" full editor.

The structure of a Customization Template consists of the following:

  • Product Views - One product can have many Product Views, which are the product different views or sides of a product, in a greeting card for example you can have Front and Back views.
    • Customization Areas - each Product View can have many Customization Areas which are the areas or regions on your product where customers can make changes. In a greeting card for example, you could have a layer for a picture and another for some text. The Customization Areas will be renderered according to their order in the list, the first area in the list will render first and so on.
      • Customization Options - Each Customization Area can have multiple Customization Options which area the type of input your customers can create (for example text or image). When you click on the "Add Option" link a modal window will open where you can see the different type of options available. There are Options for text, image and vectors and the best way to learn each Option type is by browsing and experimenting with them. Like layers, Customization Options will be rendered according to their order in the list.

- Product Views:

To add a new Product View click on the "Add View" button. To update an existing view click on its link in the "Options" tab. This will open the "View Update" section where you can change any of the view settings.

- Name: This is the name of the

- Size: This is the size of the view. If you want a printout or a rendering of the view enter the real dimensions of the view, we will scale it down if necessary when showing it to customers. The real dimensions in pixels depend on the resolution you want in the final output, for example, if the product is 5 in x 7 in and you want a resolution of 300 pixels per inch (aka ppi or dpi) then you multiply those dimensions by 300 to get: 1500 pixels x 2100 pixels.

- Customization Areas:

To add a new Customization Area locate the heading of the view where you want to add the layer. You can identify Views headings because the have a grey bottom border. On the right side the View heading click on the "Add Layer" link. To update an existing layer locate its block in the Option tab click on its link. This will open the "Layer Update" section where you can change any of the layer settings.

- Name: The name of the layer.

- Size: The width and height of the layer in inces.

- Position: The position of the layer insdie the parent View. X is the horizontal (left) position and Y is the vertical (top) position.

- Note: This is a private production note, customers will not see it.

- Customization Options:

To add a Customization Option to your product find the "Add Option" link inside the layer where you want to add the new option. A modal window will pop up with a list of all the different options that you can add to your product.

- Custom Text: use this option if you want to add a single textbox where the customer can change the text and font attributes.

- "Add Text" Button: use this option if you want to allow customers to add their own textboxes.

- Custom Image: Use this option to allow customers to upload their own photo.

- Select Image: With this option you can upload a set of images and customers will pick one.

- Static Image: Use this option to add a static product image. For example, if your product is a t-shirt you could use this option to add the t-shirt image.

- Select Color: Use this option to allow the customer to pick a color from your list. Combine it with Static or Select Image controls and we will automatically colorize the Image for you.
